This is my own property. I bought it as an investment as I know the village very well and believe in the potential of the property. It is one of my successful investments in the real estate field assuming that prices have increasеd with 60 %.

Is Oresh a good village to live?
The village of Oresh is one of the few Bulgarian villages where young people live. It is well developed and offers everything needed for normal life, even more. When we say normal life usually we refer to noisy and dirty place which is true for most of the contemporary cities where most of the people are concentrated. Oresh is not an ordinary place. It has the fresh air, the unspoiled nature, the friendly citizens and everything needed for a healthy life. This is what the village of Oresh is.
Are the neighbors friendly?
The people of Oresh are very united community, always very helpful and kind. I have introduced a few of my British clients and they were very welcomed by the villagers.
Does the offered house have mains water connected?
Yes. In the kitchen and in the bathroom.
Is the water drinkable?
Yes, the water is drinkable. There is also a well on the property which is traditional Bulgarian feature. The water from the well easily could be used for pouring the large garden, the wines and the fruit trees.

Is the property next door to a factory, main road, etc?
No. The house is located on quiet and picturesque street on a higher piece of land which gives you the ability to overlook the entire village. You can enjoy peace and relax undisturbed enjoying the view. There is no factory or other similar activity next to the property.
Is it livable?
The house has solid structure and it is very well preserved. The roof is in good condition. The walls are recently painted. You will need to put a new floor. The house needs only cosmetic renovation.

Geographical location
The village of Oresh is located in the central part of Northern Bulgaria between the towns of Svishtov and Belene and 7 kilometers south from Danube River. The area of the village is highly varied: plane, plateaus and hills all in one place but the elevations predominate. The village of Oresh is one of only a very few in Bulgaria that can be seen in good resolution on Google Earth, allowing owners to zoom in on their house and get a pretty good view.
Interesting historical facts about Oresh
Ancient sources report of the existence of settlement in 1st century on the same location of today’s village. Actually in 441 a settlement is mentioned located on the Roman road west from the town of Nove (today Svishtov). Atila the ferocious leader of the Huns conquer it and that was the place where he signed a peace treaty with Byzantium.
History witnessed another interesting fact. The ancient village was buried under the ground for the purpose of protection from the pledge. There is a legend for hidden gold left from the villagers. Today’s village of Oresh is located not far from the ancient settlement.

Cultural and Natural Landmarks
There are Karsts Springs in the region of the village and the area around where are built six fountains. Karsts Springs can be found also in the countryside: Mochur, Djado Ivanchovata Ralpa, The Cross, Benta and Bendera.
The village of Oresh and its territory is included in National Nature Park Persina. The Persina Nature Park is situated along the Svishtov - Belene lowlands, including a part of the surrounding steep Danube coast around Nikopol and Svishtov and all the Bulgarian islands in that part of Danube river.
There are two island groups within the territory of the park: the Nikopol group and the Belene group (known as Belene Danube Archipelago (BDA), with total number of 23 islands. In the Belene group is the largest Bulgarian island - Persina, which has given the name of the Natural Park.

A large number of birds, some of them threatened with extinction from Europe and from the world too, nestle, spend the winter and have the park as a place for habitation during migration. The area is rich with variety of mammals, amphibians and especially fish species. Twenty-one species registered in the Red Book of Bulgaria (list of threatened, in process of extinction and already extinct biological species) can be found there.
Very rare plants included in the Red Book as the Water Lilly can be seen in Nature Park Persina. The Belene Island Group is included in the list of international significant wet lands. This list is made by the Convention of wet lands with international significance which is signed in Ramsar, Iran, with purpose of popularizing of preserving and stable using of wet zones with international importance.
Several protected areas are situated in the region. Most of them are very important for conservation of valuable and characteristic habitats with the respective animal and plant species:
- Persinski Blata Nature Reserve
- Kitka reserve
- Persin East Natural Monument
- Kaikusha Protected Area – It is situated north of the village of Oresh in the municipality of Svishtov. The area is announced for protected zone in 1978 on purpose so the natural habitation places of rare swimming birds and plant species to be preserved and the nature of the region to stay intact.
The bird world is rich and original. All 154 species have conservation status.
Existing Local Business and opportunities for investment
The fertile soil of the village territory is a precondition for successful agricultural development. There is a big company which is a major producer of barley, wheat, corn, sugar beet, oats, lucerne and rapeseed. Also the company has cattle-breeding farm specialized in milk producing. Most of the village people are private producers of fruits and vegetables; honey; beef, pork and chicken meet for personal consummation.
The village is attractive and will be very suitable for developing village (rural) tourism which now is the latest fashion in Europe. The nearest town is Svishtov, 7 miles away, situated on Danube River it is an urbane and decent place with a supermarkets, shops, restaurants and cafes. The property is 30 miles to Pleven, another great large sity, 50 Miles to Veliko Tarnovo, 45 Miles to Lovech and 70 Miles to Troyan where there is a decent ski slope, 140 miles to Sea Coast. There is a famous spa resort nearby.
The city of Svishtov
Location:
Svishtov is situated on the bank of the Danube River, 250 km northeast of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. The city is protected by a small mountain, which defines the soft climate in the region all year round. Several mineral springs are situated in close vicinity to Svishtov.
History:
Svishtov emerges in the place of the Roman and early Byzantium, strongly fortified port center - Nove. During the medieval period the town was known by the name Staklen, later it was called Sidtovo, which is a transcription of Svishtov. The name comes from the word “svesht” (candle), because during the first centuries of the ottoman rule several cottages lighted the ways of the river boats. The present town was formed around the same cottages.
During the Revival period, Svishtov becomes a port and trade center and a starting point of the goods towards the inner parts of the Ottoman Empire. The economic development influences the cultural life in the town. Schools were constructed, together with churches and many residential houses. Many revival figures worked here. Svishtov is the first town liberated by the ottoman Rule by the end of July 1877.
Landmarks:
Svishtov and its vicinities were inhabited during different epochs from different civilizations until present days, and more than 120 archeological, art and architectural monuments are left until present days.
The towns’ historical museum is considered one of the oldest in Bulgaria and exposes numerous exponents. The ethnographic museum will tell you interesting facts of the local lifestyle and customs.
Another sightseeing is the house museum of Aleko Konstantinov, the churches “St. Dimitar”- 1640, “St. St. Peter and Paul” 1644, “st. Trinity” – 1876, the Clock tower – 1760. The numerous Revival houses are also interesting sites for visitors.
Vicinities:
Just 4 kilometers east of the town in the Tekirdere site, where the Russian - Turkish liberation war started, a huge memorial monument “The Monuments” was erected.
The Kaleto site, where the remains of the ancient town Nove and the medieval Staklen, together with the site “Pisani kamani” (drawing stones) are situated nearby the town.
10km away from Svishtov is the third largest Bulgarian isle on the Danube River – Vardim, which is a natural reserve.
Svishtov is a university center and during most of the year it is full of young people.
Svishtov is a well developed tourism center and offer numerous hotels and cozy restaurants, offering tempting dishes. The town is connected with the republican railway and road net. The Danube River is a natural navigable channel
